The Saint John’s Abbey invites young men (ages 18 to 32) to come and experience monastic life for a month (June 17 - July 13) in its Monastic Experience Program (MEP). Participants live in the monastery and join the monks in prayer, work, meals, and social activities.

To develop a better appreciation for Benedictine life, MEPs also meet regularly with monks for classes covering such topics as prayer, the psalms, the Rule of Saint Benedict, and the history of Benedictines in general and of Saint John's Abbey in particular.
