Alternative Spring Break – day 3

After morning prayer we stopped at Saint Benedict’s Monastery and met the women and were back at the food shelf  bright and early. Since we were “veterans” at this point we were able to really get busy right away! Besides taking care of a couple of pallets of miscellaneous food we also opened about 18 cases of brocolli and repacked same in fresh bread bags.

Below is a shot of one of the men stocking the vegetable cooler with our efforts!

At the end of the day we all posed with the director of the Saint Cloud Diocesan Catholic Charities Food Shelf.

Later today the men hosted the women for group Lectio and then Eucharist at Saint John’s Abbey. We then enjoyed some refreshments in the monastic guest parlor and then joined the community for dinner followed by a bit of a tour and then evening prayer.  Tomorrow we will be hosted by the women at Saint Benedict’s Monastery!

Peace, bpv
