Dear viewers,
You might have wondered why the updating of this blog had been dropped for the last week. Well, beginning last Tuesday about 40 Benedictine vocation directors from 17 states arrived at Saint John’s to meet, share ideas, be inspired and simply enjoy each other’s company. Sister Vicki Ix from the Benedictine Sisters of Virginia and Sister Mary Catherine Holicky of the Sisters of Saint Benedict’s Monastery in Saint Joseph, MN and I were the hosts and thus “my plate was rather full”. Below is a picture of the majority of the participants. Sister Joan Chittister was our keynote speaker and I will be writing about her and her presentation shortly. It was a tremendous opportunity to learn so much about vocation work and the spirituality that accompanies such wonderful work.
On Sunday we visited Saint Benedict’s Monastery in Saint Joseph, MN where we listened to two presentations in the morning by Sister Ephrem Hollermann and Abbot John Klassen and then joined in the Sunday Eucharist Celebration. This picture was taken before joining the monastic community for a wonderful lunch in the monastic dining room. Much more to follow!!!
