These are pictures of the new Blessed Sacrament Chapel in the abbey church. The dedication will take place tomorrow, Sunday, May 24, 2009. The original space was created to serve as the office of the pastor of the local Saint John the Baptist parish community. For a number of years that office has been relocated in the parish building on campus. After Vatican II the tabernacle was removed from the main altar and moved to this space. Though the space worked “ok” there was room for improvement and therefore when funds became available and designs were agreed upon the present renovation took place. It is now a stunningly beautiful, quiet and prayerful space. Thanks be to God!
